New shop Frankfurt opened
Hoofddorp, 10 January 2013 - Capi, market leader in electronics retail at airports, opened the doors to its brand new store at Fraport Airport Frankfurt. The 100 square metre electronics shop is located in Terminal 1, Hall B, Non-Schengen, serving around 3,5 million leaving passengers. Capi won the tender for an electronics concession at the German hub in 2011 for a period of five years. The new shop in Frankfurt, transit area, B-West is furnished in Capi The Travellers Electronics Company style. At this shop in Frankfurt travellers can expect to find a range of specific German brands such as Leica and Steiner. Space has also been allocated for Gifting - the latest development in the Retail Concept whereby customers are offered a choice of electronics gift items.
This retail concept, based on three marketing drivers and seven marketing concepts is implemented in all new shops, and a refurbishment of Capi’s existing shops is currently underway. The concept, which is the basis for every new shop, allows for great flexibility in shop size and lay-out. Customers will find all the elements they have come to recognize in Capi shops - from best buys in Special Offers, the latest on the market in What’s New and the really outrageous in price and design in It’s Exclusive - but also some new elements. The retail concept is continuously being adapted to fit customers’ needs and wishes.
Hans-Georg Mühlberg, Senior Manager Category Management Fraport AG: “The area B-transit is one of our busiest areas in Frankfurt. Thus we are very content to have Capi The Travellers Electronics Company as a trustworthy partner as well as an enriching concept for our new market space in transit B-West."
Peter Wiggers, Managing Director Capi, agrees: “This shop was a challenge - the new developments in the retail concept put more pressure on the design. Everyone put in a lot of hard work to make the opening a success and we are happy to have this new shop in this busy area in the Frankfurt Airport.”
