Capi opens new style shop in Oslo Airport Gardermoen
Hoofddorp, March 28 - Capi, market leader in electronics retail at airports, opened a 170 sq m shop at Oslo International departure terminal on Saturday March 24. The shop has been completely refurbished in the new Capi style and is the first such shop in Norway. Another shop, also in the new style, will open its doors in May in the Domestic terminal of Oslo Airport.
Capi renewed its contract with Oslo Airport for its International and Domestic shops when it won the tender bid in June 2011. The International shop has now been completely refurbished in the new Capi style. Capi launched a new concept - Capi The Travellers Electronics Company - at the beginning of 2011. The unique and trendsetting marketing strategy consists of seven concepts based on buying behaviour and creating a unique shopping experience. The brand strategy is focused on A-brands, niche brands and private label MiTone.
MiTone products are distributed exclusively for the Travel and Duty Free industry and cover the demands of customers looking for high-quality consumer electronics for a very competitive price.
All new Capi The Travellers Electronics stores have a "Special Offer", which involves volume retailing and lowest price guarantees; a "What's New" presentation, where the latest and trendy products are showcased; a "Product of the Month" where a specific brand is promoted based on awards or reviews. Three preselected products at an affordable price level are presented in the "Top Selection" to simplify buying behaviour. The Action Marketing Table is an ideal cabinet for three promotions brand, theme and season. The Branded presentation allows for maximum brand exposure and finally "It's Exclusive" promotes high quality, exclusive products.
Maaikel Reiber, Capi manager for Norway is pleased with the opening: "I am proud of the fact that the international shop is the first new style Capi shop to be opened in Norway. We were honoured by the trust Oslo Airport placed in Capi by awarding us the tender and we are convinced this new style shop will be an asset to customers and airport alike."
"We aim to offer our passengers an attractive and high-quality shopping experience and Capi does just that," says Jon F. Finne, Senior Retail Developer from Oslo Airport. "Oslo Airport and Capi have a long and successful history together and we look forward to a continued collaboration."
Capi Norway is the seventh shop to be presented in the new Capi style, following earlier openings in Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Helsinki and Cape Town. Capi also aims to open a further new style shop in Johannesburg before the summer.
